English manual individual exam schedule

Handleiding voor IER in het Engels

Short but important during the exam period:

  • The end time of your exam in your IES do not always reflect the amount of time effectively allocated for doing the actual exam. Often a broader time frame then neceessary was booked in order to accomodate small adjustments to the start moment.
  • The start time of your exam is the hour at which you are expected unless otherwise indicated on Toledo or on the student portal.

Important while choosing your exam moments in the IES:

  • The choices you make in your exam schedule are not definitive untill you have saved them using the 'save' button!
  • If you cancel a course in your ISP that was assigned to you automatically (blue exam slots in your schedule) then you will have to wait until the first Friday of the academic year (in this year that is Sept. 28th) to choose a new exam for this course.
  • When moving your cursor over an exam slot you will see 'reeksinfo'. This is important information. If it says a particular exam slot is meant for a group of students to which you don't belong then you are not allowed to register for this exam slot!
  • The application works best in Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Google Chrome might cause some problems.

Assignation period

In the 'assignation period' (from the opening of the ISP to the last saturday before the academic year starts) there are two possibilities. Either you see no exam moments in your IES. This means you are  in a programme stage in which no obligatory courses are automatically assigned. Or you see only blue exam moments. This means you are you are  in a programme stage in which obligatory courses are automatically assigned. what you see in this case are the exam moments of the obligatory courses you still need to take from the programma stage you chose on (re-) registration. Students who enroll for the first time have automatically been assigned programme stage 1.

At this moment, it is possible to book other courses in your ISP, but you will not see any exam moments for those courses yet.

ATTENTION!

  • If you deregister for courses for you had been assigned an exam moment in your ISP, and you change your mind, you will not be able to choose another exam moment for that course until Registration period 2. So be careful on deregistering!

Registration period 1

From the registration period, you will be able to select exam moments for the courses you choose in your ISP and for which you were not assigned a moment yet. The moments from which you can choose are indicated in green.

In some cases, exam moments you choose may overlap. If that is the case, check here if you are eligible for a solution and are allowed to contact the faculty. If you are not eligible, you aither need to choose another course or give up an exam chance. In the last case, you do that exam in August / September only. Choosing two exams on the same day (one before noon one after noon) is possible.

If you have exam moments chosen or assigned for all courses you wich to take, you can send your ISP. After sending your ISP, you can still make adjustments to your IES until the third Wednedday of the academic year.

From the registration period onwards you can start registering for exam slots. The slots you can chose from will appear in green. Click on a slot and this menu will appear:

When you have selected a slot a warning will appear:

It says that when you are finished with making your choices you should save before leaving leaving the application, using the first button of the two:

When you have created a clash in your schedule you will get a warning after saving. It is a warning and not an error, meaning that your choices were saved succesfully.

In case of a clash you will have to do the exam of on of the two in the exam period of August/September. If you do not want to keep the overlap you can see the alternatives by clicking on one of the slots causing the clash and then choosing 'Toon vrije examenmomenten'. If you have no alternative you will have to either keep the clash, choose a different course or contact your faculty. in the latter case, it's no use contacting your faculty for just any reason. If you are not obliged to do a course according to your programme then the faculty will not create a new exam slot for you.
